The Government have announced at 8pm this evening that all schools are to close to most pupils from tomorrow. I am sure that you will appreciate that the timing of this announcement is very late in the day, and you will also know that it contradicts reports that the Government have been issuing all weekend. Schools did not receive advance warning of this. This means that we are now having to give you extremely short notice of our closure to all pupils except children of Key Workers and vulnerable pupils. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
Tomorrow, we will accept pupils for the day, without verification, if you believe that you are a Key Worker. However, during the morning, we will send out a Parent Mail questionnaire to verify this. We will be in touch with vulnerable families during the morning to offer places to these children. Again, if you believe that your children qualify, please complete the booking form on Parent Mail as soon as possible. This form will open shortly and close at 8am tomorrow.
Please note, the place will only be available when you are at work, and this is important in order to keep numbers manageable in school each day.
During this time, staff will be working in school on a rota system to support these children. When not in school, staff will be working from home - providing remote learning for all other pupils. Next week, staff will begin to make welfare phone calls to all families and we hope that you will answer our calls so that we can see how your children are and also help you with any remote learning queries. Please note, these calls may come up as 'no caller ID' or 'withheld number'.
Further information about home learning will follow tomorrow/during working hours. This is an initial email with the essential information.
