The governors of Whale Hill Primary School are seeking to appoint an excellent HLTA in our Nursery from September 2026.

Position: Grade D+ HLTA for Nursery

Contract: Permanent

Required: September 2026

Salary: Grade D+ point 12  £23,579.76 (pro rata’ed)

35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year inc. 5 PD days

Our supportive Governors are seeking an exceptional practitioner with extensive knowledge and experience in working with young children who have a range of differences, including language, physical and sensory differences and social communication difficulties. You will work alongside a dedicated team who play a vital role in effectively supporting children’s needs and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Successful applicants should:

  • Have the skills and confidence to work independently and as part of our supportive team;
  • Is creative and innovative in his/her approach to teaching and learning;
  • Have a proven track record in effectively supporting groups and individuals;
  • Has highly effective behaviour management skills and can support our children in their social, moral and emotional development;
  • Hold a minimum of a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or above);
  • Possess a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and a solid knowledge of child development and practises;
  • Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the nursery;
  • Have experience of working with children with additional needs
