Redcar and Cleveland Teacher Partnership

Whale Hill Primary School is the Lead School for the RCTTP School Direct programme. We work in partnership with Durham SCITT to offer teacher training leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). QTS is the qualification you need to teach in most primary and secondary schools in England. The award of QTS confirms that you have completed your training and met the standards required to be a teacher.

Durham SCITT are an accredited teacher training provider which means they are responsible for recommending trainees for Qualified Teacher Status (which is awarded by the Department for Education). RCTTP delivers training in the Redcar and Cleveland area and works with host schools in Redcar, Middlesbrough, East Cleveland and North Yorkshire.
