Registering your child to start in Reception

Starting Your Child’s Journey With Us

We’re delighted that you’re considering our school for your child’s education. Starting school is a big step, and we’re here to make the process as smooth and welcoming as possible.

If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, it’s time to apply for a place in Reception Class for September 2026.

To register your child, you’ll need to follow the admissions process set by Redcar and Cleveland Council. This helps ensure everything is fair and properly managed.

Here’s what to expect:

  • The online application system opens on 17th November 2025.
  • You can apply through the council’s portal here: Redcar and Cleveland School Admissions Portal.
  • The national closing date for applications is 15th January 2026.
  • Once you’ve been granted a place in our school, we will contact you to give dates for New Starter Meetings and gather some extra details for our school records.


🖥️ Step 1: Gather Key Information & Documents

  • Child’s full name, date of birth, and address
  • Proof of address (utility bill, council tax, tenancy/mortgage)
  • Child Benefit or Tax Credit document
  • If applicable: Special Guardianship Order, Adoption Certificate

📝 Step 2: Start Your Application

  1. Visit Redcar & Cleveland Council website and click ‘Apply online for a school place’.
  2. Register with your details and verify your email.
  3. Log in and complete the form: child’s details, up to 3 school preferences.
  4. Upload required documents.
  5. Submit before 15 Jan 2026.

📬 Step 3: Receiving & Responding to the Offer

On 16th April 2026 check your portal or letter for your child’s allocated school. You have until 12th May 2026 to respond to the offer
